Bible Class
Every Sunday morning at 9:15 AM
In life, there are many truths. It is true that God loves us. It is true that he wants us to seek him. It is also true that we, in our human way, forget that growth doesn’t end when we are no longer a child. In the same way, spiritual growth does not end the moment we give our lives over to the Lord. We continue to learn. In the Social Hall of the church, our class meets to continue rounding ourselves as Christians through Old and New Testament study. Life is all about always learning. Come and learn and grow with us!

Library Class
Every Sunday morning at 9:15 AM
There is no such thing as needing God only in our youth or in our wiser days. We recognize that each moment, each day, each year of our lives, we need Jesus. We also recognize that in this journey, we can and should lean on each other to grow our faith together. This is why we have a class, full of people of all ages, that meets in our church library, just outside the rear entrance of the sanctuary, where we study from all parts of the Bible and share with each other about how we see God working in our lives. It is a class full of prayer and fellowship to help us start the week on the right foot! Come and let us grow closer to God together!

Missions Outreach Program
The Missions committee meets quarterly
Do you remember how Jesus was nailed to a cross on Good Friday? Do you remember how afraid he was when he learned that it was his only choice? But do you remember how his absolute love for us conquered his fear and he surely wore that crown of thorns? A love like that is overwhelming, a love that cannot be repaid. But what we can do to please the Lord, to worship and thank him, is to give so much love to other people. At First Church, our mission is to spread our love to our neighbors, to our country, and across God’s green earth. Hahne Cancer Center Comfort Bags, School Backpacks filled with supplies to Pentz Run Youth, Operation Christmas Child Boxes and our Soup Supper are only a few of the national and local projects we have supported. For more information on how you can spread Christ’s love, contact the church office at 814-371-5150.

The church is a community where everyone helps their neighbors. When you take your children to Sunday School, you can rest assured you have the qualified help with their spiritual education. Our teachers and curriculum will give your child a great start to their education about Jesus. If you want your child to make more friends, Sunday school is a great place to find them.

FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving Day
There is nothing more comforting and more nostalgic than the smell of a turkey in the oven and stuffing on the table on Thanksgiving Day. Of course, it stirs feelings of hunger, but it also brings about the feelings of companionship and love when you share the meal with others. Everyone deserves to feel that on the day of thankfulness. On Thanksgiving Day, First Church opens its doors to anyone and everyone interested in a FREE dinner with much fellowship! A home cooked meal is what you deserve and we have that and so much love for you as well!

FREE Community Outreach Dinner
2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesdays 5 PM in the church Social Hall
“God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our food. By his hand, we all are fed, thank you Lord for Daily Bread.” As Methodists, we understand the importance of food. But all joking aside, we know that God promised that he will always provide for his children. At First Church, we hope to be his hands, working for him to reach everyone in our community through food and fellowship. On the 2nd-4th-5th Wednesdays in our Social Hall we share in devotions at 4:45 and we follow that with a free homemade dinner. Our doors are always open to patrons and volunteers alike!

Prayer Chains at First Church
Always, without ceasing!
The power of prayer surpasses all understanding and here at First Church we believe in standing firmly on that power. We have seen God work in our church through prayer and the world provides us with endless need for it. The prayer chain is updated immediately through our One Call Now system that contacts the Prayer Group by their personal preference of receipt, e-mail, phone or text. Call the church office at 371-5150 for information.

First Church Chancel Choir
Every Thursday at 7 PM
Here at First Church, we are blessed with a choir that worships the Lord through song. Their voices soar in our sanctuary and fill each of us with such emotion. They can excite us, humble us, set us at peace, and bring us to tears with each note. They are a true blessing that we thank God for.
